About the Two-day Training:
Introducing the powerful IMAGO model, and its effectiveness in working with couples. Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) offers a coherent, comprehensive theory, grounded in experiential practice; an effective, research-based method to help couples transform painful dynamics, create safety and connection, whilst guiding them towards emotional healing and real growth.
How will you benefit?
- Enjoy learning the theory and practice of Imago Relationship Therapy, including demonstrations and practice of the Imago dialogue.
- Understand the ‘stages of relationship’ from romantic love, through the “power struggle”, conflict, frustration and crisis, to a re-commitment to “The Work”, in order to guide clients towards greater relational competence and restored connection.
- Incorporate new understandings from cutting edge neuroscience in your work with couples.
- Learn how to coach attuned, correctional experiences for couples – from rupture to presence.
- Develop skills to hold couples safely in processes that offer them the opportunity to make sense of and move beyond their negative interactional cycles, into a more positive, nurturing environment with the other. Those skills will increase you own competence and confidence in helping clients deal better with the inevitable challenges that relationships bring.

I’m an Advanced Imago Relationship Therapist, and Certified GTLYW Workshop Presenter, and a life-long learner. I have been a Psychologist for 29 years, trained in multiple modalities for individual therapy and many relationship models (including Family and Systems—with Relationships Australia; Gottman Therapy; Bader’s Developmental Model; IRT Imago Relationship Therapy; EFT Emotion Focused Therapy; PORT Presence Oriented Relationship Therapy; TCT Transformative Couples Therapy). I discovered the power of the Imago relational model 10 years ago (with great benefit to my own relationship – of 25 years), and now work largely with couples—with often profound benefits for couples, and very importantly, for their children.
